I only bought the Bilstein because it was cheap. I still run at the front and don't feel that the shock is as big a handicap as the loose nut between the gas pedal and steering wheel

The bad news with any shock is it can be revalved with no way to check it except a shock dyno. This was/is a huge problem with Spec Miata. They use a spec Bilstein shock.

The bottom line is that the driver still has to drive the car. HP and shocks do not make an average driver better.

So, since there's no yay or nay yet, I think I'll take the risk since I desperatly need front struts.
Unless anyone has some early Koni front inserts they need to get rid of for the price of Bilsteins....

Gary, I may (may) have one Koni. It is from my 88, however. Is there a problem with using it in your car? If not, you can have it. I was keeping it as a spare. Then you only need one more to have Koni's.

There are two rules I am OK with changing.

Let's get down to one tire and one shock.

All other rules should be left alone.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

So far the cars seem to be very evenly matched in our region.

Hey Big Dog are we still going to Sears this month?

Thanks for the offer, Jim!!
But, they're different. I spoke to Chuck at Paragon just to confirm. I'd need the 8641-1038S for my 84.

I'm going to go ahead and run it one last time on the 25 yr old struts/springs this weekend at Buttonwillow. I'll set the rears on full soft, with my new RA1's on the Fuchs we'll see how much body roll I can get going.
