Well guys it is the end of another season in 944 spec. 2012 will be out 10th Anniversary as a class. Yes back in the spring of 2002 the class was formed. It Is kind of amazing it has been that long and amazing how it has grown from a few guys in Arizona to nationwide class with cars all over the country.

Quick update on the season.. NASA Az held 20 races in 2011 on 5 different tracks. That is a lot of racing. Iron Man award goes to Dave Hauck for starting 19 of 20 races this year and attending every single event. Field sizes were not largest of the past few years, but we have ended with a strong count and picked up two new rookie racers. Pete Dimuzio and Rob Giorgio have jumped into the race group this year as rookies and both have done very well.

Top 4 in points are as follows

Norm Hamden – Total 1617 – After Drops = 1550 – 2011 Az Season Champion - $1000 Toyo Rebates
Dave Hauck – Total 1537 – After Drops = 1385 - $500 Toyo Rebates
Jeff Wojnar – Total 1435 – After Drops = 1325 - $250 Toyo Rebates
Steve Marlow – Total 1406 – After Drops = 1300

Congratulations to Norm Hamden for winning the 2011 Season Championship. He started 18 of 20 races missing only one event all year long and finished in first in 14 of his 18 starts. Very impressive results.

Dave Hauck came in second supported by a very consistent season. 19 races started with 16 races finishing on the podium.

Jeff Wojnar came in third this year with a measured approach to the season starting 18 of 20 races. He notched up 6 podium finishes including back to back wins at an incredible pace the new INDE motorsports ranch “roller coaster”.

Steve Marlow completes the top 4 by completing 18 of 20 races. Steve finished the season strong with 2 second place finishes in the final 3 races and total of 8 podium finishes for the year. Steve just missed out on 3rd by just 25 points.
