They have charged for camping at every National I have been to. So not a new thing. There was an option to pay for camping at sign up.

I must have missed it, when I signed up in July. Oh well.. it is what it is.

Man, $100 seems like a cash grab! I paid it at Miller assuming the track was responsible but Sonoma never charges nor will we getting hookups or any other "perk", just the right to sleep there which I do at every event.

Now I am bringing an extra vehicle, a rented motorhome and that adds to the crowd but I plan on parking up the hill in my usual spot with the truck & trailer with the group down below.

I didn't factor the extra cost into the price of the motorhome and didn't notice the camping fee at registration and if they keep adding seemingly arbitrary fees this will be my last nationals.

I sent an email to Will. Here is his response.

"12 and under will be free.

You can assign your crew passes to whomever you like.

The camping fee recoups costs for the security we are required to hire for such a big event. I’m really sorry about not getting all this info out earlier."

Based on the paddock usage I am not sure how this is a larger turn out than a standard NorCal race weekend.

They had to hire security because the So Cal crew are such douche bags

After reading the welcome letter from NASA it looks like we can arrive on wednesday but cant move to our spots until Thursday morning.

This may creat a problem with being on track if we are first out. I cant find my schedule for test day. Does anybody know what time our first session is on Thursday?
