Weekend was awesome - with the exception of the mechanicals.


Even with a car in the not best of shape Steve made me work (hard!) - and after he redid things today I couldn't catch him once traffic separated us.

To add to the carnage, after qualifying I went to bleed my coolant and sheared the bleed screw which made a trip home for a spare required.

Damn, that is one big RAM AIR intake you have there.

I took my car into the shop today and as an afterthought, I told them to flush the brake fluid and make sure they work. Thanks Steve for learning my lesson for me!!

I flushed and bled the brake system before this event. My car tends to push the pads back away from the rotors when the pads are getting thin < 1/2 left. I'm aware of this and I give a little left foot tap before a hard braking zone.

This time I was rusty from the off season and I didn't do the tap. I hate to be the idiot that crashes in the first warm up of the season but that was me. I thought I was taking it easy but not quite easy enough. Hard lesson but I was really pretty lucky to not damage things a lot worse.
