My Auto Shop students will be pulling the motor from a 1988 944 to replace the motor in another car which suffered an unfortunate timing belt incident. When we finish, the car and broken engine will be available. We have not done any teardown on the engine, so all I can tell you about it is there is no compression. I'm pretty sure it is a case of bent valves but won't swear to it. The body of the car is rough but easily fixable. The interior is in decent shape so you should be able to sell some of those pieces to help with expenses. I would like to sell the car whole but if I don't get any interest we will part the car.
