rumor has it a rmr car bested the track record by more than 3 seconds not too long ago, and ran sub track record laps for 30 minutes ... ON R888's !

looks like AZ is wishing they could get a 4th.

Last June Jim Foxx ran under the track record in the enduro on R888's. So I expect us to run under track record pace this year.

Track record 2:22.005 set on worn RA-1 by Rick Lofgen.

Jim Foxx in the 2 hr enduro following (not official since we ran enduro classing) 2:20.856 on lap 41 no less of 50 laps.

Jim also run under theh 4.5 mile track records in the Hanksville challenge race on sunday. Again on R888.

Hmm fastest "unofficial" laps at Miller set on R888s...

The record will fall unless it rains. IMO

And I think it will be on R888 tires. Lots of time has been put into figuring out this tire. It is plenty fast. Just not as durable.

We have the following counts.


RMR = 17 cars - nice work chuck
Arizona = 9 cars
So-Cal = 6 cars
Nor-cal = 3 cars

So if we take the best 5 cars that leave out Nor-cal, but gives So-cal and extra spot so they wound be dragged down by Tim Comeau's slow lap times.

So we can do the following.
Use the Az score system for points and add up the top 5 finishers in each region for all 3 races. Which region you are is defined on the entry list. Then which ever region has the highest total points wins a "fastest region" award.

Nor-cal only has 3 cars, but with this system if they still secure the top 3 spots in al 3 races I bet they can out point the other regions even with just 3 cars. So they are down, but not out.

So let the fun begin.

Based on the results from Thrus, Friday & Saturday using the Az points system that Awards a 10 pt gap to the winner with 5 pt gaps to 10th, 3pt gaps from 11 to 15, 2pt gaps from 16-20th, and 25 pts there after.

Totals are

RMR = 911 pts
Az = 903 pts
So-Cal = 889 pts
Nor-cal = 335 pts (with just 3 drivers)
