So after a LONG time I finally got the engine (rebuilt) in the car and all the wiring connected but the car will not start.
It cranks and sputters (tries to start) and pops out of the exhaust but it will not fire up.
I checked the fuel pump and tested everything on Clark's Garage for the pump and DME relay and DME connections; all of that works fine.
It sounds like a timing issue to me but I've checked, double, and triple checked all of my timing marks for TDC and they're all correct. I've checked plug wires and distributor cap and rotor too.
I'm not that experienced with the 944 so I may be overlooking something.
Can any of you guys help me out?

Thank you,
Sean

It's possible you have your timing sensors hooked up backwards. Swap the plugs at the back of the head and test out.

May also have wrong gap at sensors. This takes a little more skill.

I have had a no start situation after motor installation and it was sensors being hooked up backwards.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

That was it, thanks.
She purrs like a kitten now... well ROARS is more like it since there's no muffler on it yet.
