I finally got my car started and tried to hook the stock tach to the dme but it did not work. Can anybody point me in the right direction on hooking the tach up. I like the look of the stock tach and would like to keep it. thanks for any help.

are you still using early DME harness? There is a connector under the steering wheel between the body harness and DME harness that gets the tach singnal to the gauge. If you are using a late DME harness (or 924S) you need to jumper the connection as the connetors don't fit each other.

The early tach should just plug into an early DME harness. There is a specific plug off the DME harness that runs the tach. If you are using a late DME harness the connector will not match up and you will need jumper it. However it is only 2 wires. Just match the colors.

is ther any way to test the tach. i have it hooked to the original harness and nothing. the tach bounces if you take the ground off and then reattach it.
