I don't know if the years I stated above are correct, though. I know the heads with the cut out in the port are from early cars. And I know the 8R head came on later cars. I wonder what the production date is on the 7R head you have? Can you see the date stamp?

Is that what it means, the dot is pointing to 8 on the clock and a 4 in the center so is that 1984?

That one is marked a little different than I was expecting, but it means that it was made in August 1984. So it is indeed an 84 head.

FWIW, my car did have the late 9R cam on top of the 6R head.
